William Sami Étienne Grigahcine, known professionally as DJ Snake, is a French DJ and record producer from Paris.After a huge 2016 that saw DJ Snake — real name William Sami Etienne Grigahcine — release his debut album, ‘Encore’, it looked difficult for the Parisian DJ/producer to maintain his trajectory into the stratosphere.
His 2015 Major Lazer collaboration, ‘Lean On’, hit two billion views on YouTube in May, meaning he stands in an elite club alongside chart-toppers including Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ and Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’. DJ Snake isn’t workshy either, with his huge summer world tour seeing him perform 39 dates across two months.
Fans were left worried in May after DJ Snake deleted his social media accounts and cancelled a performance at Hangout Festival but, thankfully, he was fine and logged back on shortly after, clarifying he just needed to take some time out.
