Selena Gomez & Becky G Drop Pop Cumbia “Te Olvido (La La)”

Selena Gomez and Becky G have joined forces on “Te Olvido (La La),” a new single built around a driving cumbia rhythm and produced by hitmaker Benny Blanco. The track blends the genre’s traditional pulse with Blanco’s signature pop songwriting, giving both artists room to trade smooth, slow-burning vocals over a beat that feels as at home on the dance floor as it does on repeat.

A Love Song With an Ultimatum

Underneath its catchy, chant-like “la la” hook, “Te Olvido (La La)” carries more weight than a typical love song. The lyrics deliver an ultimatum wrapped in melody, sung with the confidence of someone who already knows what she wants: “dime si somos o no somos… así yo decido si te quiero o te olvido” (“tell me if we are or we aren’t… so I can decide if I love you or forget you”). Gomez and Becky G lean into that certainty, turning a breakup-or-commit moment into one of the more hypnotic pop-cumbia records of the year.

The Music Video: Lowriders, Street Parties, and Danny Trejo

The “Te Olvido (La La)” video, directed by STILLZ and produced by Estevan Oriol, is steeped in Los Angeles’ Chicano culture. Expect lowriders, neighborhood street celebrations, and visual nods to Mexican pride throughout.

Hollywood icon Danny Trejo makes a standout cameo, putting a playful spin on his iconic Machete persona swapping action-movie mayhem for a street party face-off with a piñata. Legendary skateboarder Paul Rodriguez (“P-Rod”) also appears, rounding out a video that doubles as a love letter to LA’s Mexican-American community.

The visual also expands the world of Hermoso, giving fans another
entry point into the broader project.
