GORDO: How Carnage Reinvented Himself Through House Music
Diamante Anthony Blackmon has already helped define a global musical movement, and now he’s doing it again. GORDO is the new house music alias of the artist formerly known as Carnage. It’s also a new way of life and a new way of thinking for Blackmon. After a period of reflection during the pandemic, he found a fresh approach to life, and GORDO is how he’s carrying it out. That renewed energy drives his signature house sound: a passionate, heartfelt new beginning set to redefine house music for the next generation.
GORDO Live: A World Tour at Iconic Venues
That energy comes through most in GORDO’s live DJ sets, which give fans around the world a new sound and a new experience. His world tour has included performances at:

TARAKA: GORDO’s Global Event Series
GORDO also curates his own event brand, TARAKA, which has popped up in San Francisco, Miami, Tulum, Mykonos, Amsterdam, New York, Bulgaria and Detroit. Every TARAKA event aims for a real block-party feel, with extended sets, surprise guests and raw, minimal production.
GORDO’s Hit Releases and Drake Collaborations
His search for a new sound has produced a run of standout house tracks:
“KTM”, an instant Top 10 hit on the Beatport Main Chart
“TARAKA”
“Leaving Earth” with KAS:ST
“RIZZLA” with The Martinez Brothers, which drew wide acclaim
Blackmon locked in the GORDO name with six productions on Drake’s dance-infused album Honestly, Nevermind, which earned him the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Producers chart.
From Guatemala to the Global Stage: Diamante Blackmon’s Story
Blackmon has never been afraid to step into the unknown. He was raised in Guatemala and moved back to the United States at age 10, speaking little English and with almost no money. Those early struggles later drove him to build schools in Nicaragua, using his platform to raise awareness of what others are going through.
No Going Back
After years of self-discovery, GORDO is now Blackmon’s whole world. The project has freed him and given him the confidence to release sounds he’s carried in his heart for years. From here on, it’s all about making the music he wants to make. No going back.
